Established by the Spanish conquerors on March 10, 1543, La Antigua Guatemala was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1979. This beautiful and magical colonial city keeps almost five hundred years of history, with a privileged climate and exceptional view towards the volcanoes of Fuego and Acatenango that frame the city, in addition to numerous mountains. In this city time stood still and it is seen in the thick walls of its temples, its monasteries and its colonial houses. This colorful town still preserves restored 16th century buildings and can be explored on foot through its cobbled streets to enjoy culture and history.
